Skin care in a natural way

In order for the skin to remain healthy, it must be cared for according to its age and condition. Young skin, for example, doesn't need much to be plump and elastic. However, the older it gets, the more moisture has to be added from outside. Then water-in-oil emulsions are ideal for care because they preserve the protective acid mantle of the skin.

In addition, you have to consider the individual skin type. If the skin is rather oily, it needs thorough cleaning and should not be additionally burdened with fatty creams, but should be supplied with moisture. Dry skin needs both fat and moisture. With sensitive skin, everything that stresses the skin must be avoided (e.g. peelings , facial tonic with alcohol, strong temperature changes). Since soaps attack the protective acid mantle, they should only be used on very robust, rather oily skin.

To keep all skin types healthy: Drink plenty (about 3 liters a day), sleep well (if possible 8 hours), drink no or only moderate alcohol; never smoke, as this causes the skin to age extremely quickly. In addition, there are many natural home remedies for beauty care.

Two skin care ideas

  • Avocado mask for dry skin: Crush  1/2 avocado , mix with 2 teaspoons of whole milk yogurt  and apply generously to the cleansed face and neck. Remove after 15 minutes with a damp washcloth.
  • Cleansing and refreshing mask with parsley :  Wash half a bunch of flat-leaf parsley and pat dry. Then finely chop the leaves and stems. Mix with 2 tablespoons of dry quark and 1 tablespoon of honey . Leave on face, neck and décolleté for 20 minutes, then rinse off.

Care for hair naturally

Our hair also benefits from a healthy and wholesome diet with many minerals and trace elements. If it does not get it, or if the person is hormonally imbalanced, the hair will react promptly. Factors such as age or time of year (sun and UV radiation dry out, for example) also play a role in the condition of the hair and, of course, mechanical, chemical and physical stresses such as washing too often, combing intensively, topping, tinting, coloring, perming or getting too hot blow dry.

If the hair is sick or impaired, it signals this very clearly by being thin, dull, lackluster, greasy, without tension or even brittle. It is then important to care that corresponds to the hair problem.

Two tips for hair care

  • Bananas , curd and wheat germ oil for smooth hair:  crush an overripe banana with a fork. Add a spoonful of wheat germ oil to a tablespoon of banana jam and stir in a tablespoon of curd cheese. Leave the whole thing on damp hair for five to ten minutes and then rinse well.
  • Green tea against oily hair:  For the rinse, pour a quarter liter of boiling water over two tablespoons of loose green tea, let it steep for ten minutes and strain. Add 150 ml lemon juice . Rinse your hair with this mixture (do not wash out afterwards).

Care for hands and nails with the power of nature

Our hands are important representatives of our exterior. But they are also a communication tool. With them we approach others, touch them; they convey feelings such as affection, rejection or distrust to others. Well cared for and in good physical condition, the skin is smooth and supple, the nails have no grooves or stains and are also not discolored (e.g. yellowish with skin fungus diseases).

The night hours are particularly suitable for the particularly intensive care of hands and nails, because then the active ingredients of creams and oils can be absorbed particularly well. If gloves are worn over the creamed hands, this effect is further supported. In autumn and winter, the hands can tolerate more care. You should then apply cream well before each walk.

Two tricks that naturally take care of your hands and nails

  • Almond and lemon care oil for rough hands: Mix fifty ml of almond oil with a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Massage the mixture into the skin until it is completely absorbed.
  • Warm olive oil bath cares for the hands: bathe your hands in warm olive oil once a week .
